Vibration Analysis
Vibration analysis is the process of collecting vibration data and using it to look at vibration levels and frequencies of the different components within a machine in order to make an assessment of the health of the machine. When a machine is operating it will produce vibration, however as the health of the machine deteriorates the vibration may increase and contain characteristic frequencies which suggest an issue is present.

Using their portable diagnostic system, Turner Iceni is able to capture high quality raw acceleration data which can then be analysed by one of their vibration analysts to assess the health of the machine and identify any underlying issues with the machine. Common faults detected by vibration analysis include:
-
Gear wear
-
Imbalance
-
Misalignment
-
Bearing failures
-
Mechanical looseness
-
Resonances and natural frequencies
Following data collection and analysis, Turner Iceni provides a detailed report of their findings and will give recommendations on any further monitoring or remedial work required. A sample report can be viewed in the link below.
All Turner Iceni analysts are BINDT VA Category 2 certified.
